Just a Bike Ride, documentaries by bicycle on education in Asia

Just a Bike Ride in Asia, it’s over !
The conclusion of our report on education in Asia ?

Let us remember that despite growth rates and school enrollment rising in South East Asia, access to school for the poor remains compromised for years to come …
This is why small associations, like the 5 that we followed, implement targeted actions on the ground to repel the dropout and offer vocational training to young, in order they generate incomes in their communities.

The Just a Bike Ride stories are made by Amande (interviews, writing) and Jix (photos, videos, website), who travel only by bicycle to move closer to the people, to have an overall view of the different livelihoods. The aim of Just a Bike Ride is to transmit information in the field, in order to promote intercultural understanding. From August 2011 to April 2012, the mission of Amande and Jix was to join France from Bangkok in Thaïland (see initinerary here), to make the following report :

Mekong Schools, the promise of education in the XXI° century Asia

In a context of economic and values crisis in the West, the issue of lack of access to primary education still questions. To provide some understanding Just a Bike Ride wants to collect non-profit organizations’s words (small actors are targeted). The goal is to put into perspective the testimony of foreigners, locals and children to better understand why the goal of universal primary education, set by the UN for 2015, will seem to be no reached (see preamble to the story here)
